What is the difference between Public and Private Authority Documents?

Public Authority Documents are applicable and publicly available to many organizations. Examples:

  1. Statutes (Bills or Acts)
  2. Regulations
  3. Regulatory Directive or Guidance
  4. Contractual Obligation
  5. International or National Standard
  6. Audit Guideline
  7. Safe Harbor
  8. Best Practice Guideline
  9. Vendor Documentation

Private Authority Documents are internal organizational governance documents that are created by and available only to that organization. Example: Acme, Inc. Wireless Access Policy
